September’s film program is being presented in support of the United We Serve campaign, launched by the White House to support the National Day of Service & Remembrance on 9/11.
This campaign is designed to get Americans out there helping their communities, and we here @ Cinema Speakeasy would like to take a moment to encourage you to do just that: Do something nice for someone, or for a bunch of people, on 9/11 (and every other day, if you can).
Check out our event profile on serve.gov, and – what the hell – create your own service-oriented event while you’re at it. You can organize a neighborhood cleanup, or just buy a homeless person lunch.
In the meantime, see you on Sep 1st, at 7:45, at the Echo Park Film Center!
